DESCRIPTION:Join us August 14th at 1 PM at the General Baker Institute as
we honor the legacy of revolutionary freedom fighters and explore the
meaning of Black August through its four pillars: study\, fast\, train\,
and fight. \n\n\n\nThis gathering is organized by the Black Power
Coalition\, a developing all Black led coalition of local groups
building\, practicing and defining Black Power here in the city of
Detroit.\n\n\nWe'll gather for grounding and breathing\, a community
  potluck\, a screening of Attica\, a community circle discussion\, and
contributions from local artists. As we honor Black August\, we are
intentional about creating space for Black people to feel comfortable\,
grounded\, and open to sharing\, reflecting\, and connecting. We ask Our
white comrades to respect this space\, its purpose and the importance of
Black led spaces within our collective liberation work. Come celebrate
the lives and struggles of our revolutionary freedom fighters\, deepen
our understanding and learn how you can plug into the work of carrying
  their legacy forward.
